Course Description

This course is designed to upgrade the English skills of students to a level appropriate for vocational employment.

  • This course also meets General Education Goals #(s) 1.2, 2.1, 3.2, and 5.2 of General Education Program

A.  PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLOs): 
The student will be able to:
      1.2 Make a clear, well organized verbal presentation

    1. Demonstrate the ability of independent thought and expression.

5.2 Demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal skills, teamwork, leadership and decision making skills

B.  STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (SLOs): GENERAL
The student will be able to:
1.   Demonstrate listening and speaking by following directions, responding appropriately, talking with co-workers, managers and customers and making verbal presentations.
2.   Write in the form of listing, outlining and summarizing technical operations and answering written questions as well as prioritizing and sequencing tasks to be done.
3.   Read instructions, directions, manuals, job postings, tests, quizzes, charts and graphs, as well as textbooks and homework assignments.
