Resume Teaching Philosophy

George dreamed to be an engineer but ended up pursuing Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Baguio City campus. Later on, he pursued a Master of Business Administration degree from the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, Philippines. His first job was at the Francisco Q. Duque Medical Foundation Special Science High School of the Lyceum Northwestern University in Dagupan City, Philippines, teaching Mathematics and Basic Computer courses. He was the head coach of the school’s Mathematics quizzers and led them into an unbeatable team in regional competitions for quite sometime. In his stint in the university, he also worked as part time instructor to the elementary and college levels. He had a shift in his career path and had to leave his "first love", when he joined a national agency, the Department of Trade and Industry and became a District Trade and Industry Officer. He enjoyed this work because he loves traveling and this gave him an opportunity to tour all the municipalities of his home province as he dealt a lot of time in helping farmers become productive by engaging in some livelihood endeavors. As he wanted to take more control of his time, he established a computer shop and enjoyed the challenge of computer programming. Later, he was invited by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan to become one of the Governor’s Executive Assistants. As such, he was privileged to go to national level planning, attending conferences and meetings at the Malacanang Palace and other government agencies, and became part of a panel of infrastructure planners for the Province of Pangasinan. When the province’s MIS Office was created, he was assigned as an Information Technology Officer and developed and implemented the computerized payroll system and made the province among the first local government units to disburse the employees’ salary through the automated teller machine.

When his wife Marlene, was offered the position as a Business/Computer Instructor at the COM-FSM National Campus, his family moved to Pohnpei, FSM, and he had the opportunity to go back to his "first love" as he taught as a part timer at the College of Micronesia – FSM National Campus’ Business and Mathematics and Science Divisions and at the Pohnpei Campus' Mathematics and Science Division. He later became full time as a Mathematics Instructor at the COM-FSM Pohnpei Campus.
