Office Rules, Regulations, and Policies

  1. Students are not to be idly hanging around the front reception area of the office.
  2. Students are not to use the division telephone without permission.
  3. Students who are coming to see their advisor or instructor for academic assistance, advice, or counseling are to conduct themselves in a quiet and professional manner.
  4. Students who are making noise should be politely, asked to leave.
  5. Faculty will not place students at other faculty member's computer without the consent of that faculty member. The need to maintain confidentiality of records is mandated by Family Rights and Privacy Act.
  6. Computers in the conference room are for academic usage only.
  7. When the administrative assistant is absent and no member of faculty is present in an office, no student can remain in the faculty quads, not even a work-study student. The lone exception is that a work study receptionist may remain at the front desk to man the reception desk.
  8. With the permission of the faculty member, work-study students can use the computer of that member of faculty for whom they are working to do work assigned by the faculty member. The work-study student will not use other computers.
  9. When student's have completed their work, their advising, their counseling, or other matters they should leave the office.
  10. When the water is off, please refrain from using the toilet.
  11. The East door is not to be used as an entrance or exit.
  12. If one is hospitalized, then one must contact their supervisor directly or have a family member make direct contact with a supervisor to discuss course coverage matters.
  13. If one returns to work after a hospitalization, then one must inform their supervisor in person that they are back on the job.
