Articulation:

Officials from the University of Hawaii at Hilo visited the National Campus on Tuesday, 11/7/04, met with the Acting Vice President for Instructional Affairs and Interim President, and discussed the renewal of the current articulation agreement between the two institutions. Changes to the current agreement included the length of the agreement to be reduced from five (5) years to two (2) years. Officials from the COM-FSM raised the point that the general education core requirements for all AS and AA Degrees are all the same and asked if AS Degrees can be included under the umbrella agreement, meaning that all transfer students from COM-FSM can be treated equally as the AS Degree transfer students. All AA Degree transfer students to the University of Hawaii at Hilo are treated as juniors. Another new change in the current agreement is that all transfer students will take an ESL test, however, the results will not be used to place the COM-FSM transfer students in their courses.

Board of Regents:

The College of Micronesia-FSM Board of Regents will be meeting in Pohnpei during the week of December 14-17, 2004. One of the things the BOR will be doing during its meeting in Pohnpei is selecting the president for the College of Micronesia-FSM.

Chuuk Campus fundraising efforts during the months of November and December 2004 raised $1325.00
