Newly Approved Student Assistance Programs

The college's Cabinet has established two student aid programs to assist students who will enroll or re-enroll at the college in fall 2021. The programs are the COM-FSM We Care Student Aid and the COM-FSM Laptop Student Care.

The We Care Student Aid program is intended to support students facing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This aid provides the selected students the supplemental financial assistance to cover outstanding (or unpaid) tuition and matriculation fees, including on-campus room and board fees after all federal grants and national and state scholarships are applied.

This We Care Student Aid must be applied to the recipient’s outstanding balance on tuition and required matriculation fees (e.g., housing, transportation and books) at the college for the academic term beginning spring 2020.

Recognizing the challenges imposed on students due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Laptop Student Care program is intended to alleviate or mitigate some of the technological challenges that students face while taking online classes.

Students will be placed in three groups and the laptops will be issued to students according to the groupings.

Like any other typical student assistance, students must apply for these grants in order to be considered.

Interested students who will enroll or will re-enroll in Fall 2021 semester are encouraged to apply for the student aid programs.

Application forms are available at all Financial Aid Offices of the college or the forms can be accessed through the college website under Financial Aid Office section.
