Duties: Develops, plans, and coordinates technical and vocational credit programs, non-credit continuing education programs, and short term training workshops for workforce development. In collaboration with state campuses, oversees the US Department of Labor apprenticeship programs; assists in determining needs, obtains equipment and other learning resources; coordinates the curriculum development, reviews and approval process of related programs, courses trainings and workshops; provides oversight in implementation of vocational and technical programs offered concurrently across campuses; Coordinates the assessment of learning outcomes and reports to evaluate effectiveness and relevance of vocational and technical programs; Researches and writes grant proposals for the development and expansion of the vocational and technical programs, adult basic education, and continuing education programs in cooperation with the Vice President of Instructional Affairs and State Campuses; Coordinates the assessment, documentation and compilation of student/participant outcome data to evaluate effectiveness and relevance of related programs; Supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of the vocational training coordinator; Serves as a liaison between the Office of the Instructional Affairs and the College’s Cooperative Research and Extension department to document, tract and assess community based trainings and continuing education activities conducted by CES; Prepares monthly and annual reports on program activities and accomplishments; Serves as a member of the Curriculum Committee; Serves as a liaison for distance education program partnerships in which COM-FSM participants; and assists in the development of distance education plans and programs; serves on related committees. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in education, vocational or technical education, educational administration, or a related field from a US accredited college or university. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards. Bachelor’s degree in the required fields with extensive work experience in the indicated areas will be considered. Demonstrates experience in successful teaching, administrative, and program responsibilities in an educational setting preferably a community college or technical college; progressively successful experience with vocational and continuing education program development, implementation and support; grant writing and project implementation. Other combination of training and work experience in management, administration or related professional work will be considered. Ability to plan and implement programs and projects; knowledge of community college and technical college missions and standards assessment of student learning outcomes. Familiarity with basic design and application of distance education. Highly effective communications skills, excellent organizational skills, and effective team management skills is desirable. Ability and willingness to guide and mentor subordinate staff to build capacity within the college.
