Position and Salary:

Student Services Assistant I
C–10/ $6,734 PA


Position is not eligible for housing and/or transportation benefits.

Duties: Responsible for the development and implementation of the student recreation program, including preparation of a monthly calendar of activities, planning and organizing activities [e.g. intramural and interscholastic sports,etc]; requisition supplies and equipments; operate COM-FSM vehicles, including boats to transport students to and from college approved activities; organize various outdoor activity programs; instruct and coach one or two teams; prepare groups for competition, recruit participants in students recreation program; maintain accurate inventory of sports equipment and participate in the planning of sport facility for Campus; transport students to/from airport, picnic sites and field trips; serve on committees as needed; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate with two years of work experience in development and implementation of a student recreation program. Bachelor’s degree in physical education with some professional training for sports development is preffered. Demonstrated experience and the ability to effectively interact with people and convey information accurately and effectively. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of and ability to: rules of play of various team and non-team sports (e.g. volleyball, baseball, softball, basketball, table tennis, track and field); good sportsmanship and fair play; standard English language communication skills in order to speak, read and write effectively; ability to deal effectively with students and staff; communicate effectively with others; instruct and coach students in various sports and leisure time activities; operate passengers vehicles; and model good sportsmanship.
