Duties: Teaching 12 to 15 contact hours of vocational education courses per week with one to four preparations in the areas of basic computer repair, common commercial and residential appliance repair, office machine repair, and electronic circuitry testing and repair. Teaching classes in accordance with the goals and objectives of the course as described in the course outline. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and student learning outcomes/grades, in accordance with COM-FSM regulations. Submitting records to Chairperson after the end of the semester/session. Keeping at least 5 office hours per week. Participating in one standing committee; may be asked to participate in adhoc committees. Advising students. Participating in special College functions such as graduation. Participating in Division activities. This includes meetings, curriculum development and developing procedures for improving current classes. Participating in assessment activities. Participating in professional development. Managing the vocational education computer laboratory to ensure all equipment, tool kits, and software are properly cared for. Assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of the vocational education building to assure an environment conducive to learning. Attending to additional needs of the College or the community as agreed upon by the faculty member in consultation with their supervisor. Minimum Qualifications: Earned bachelor’s degree from a US accredited institution [Master’s degree preferred] circuitry or computer design or related field AND six years of full-time equivalent related occupational work experience or three years of full-time teaching at the post-secondary level. OR an earned journeyman certificate in the occupational teaching area AND an earned associate’s degree from a US accredited institution in the teaching area AND ten years of full-time equivalent related occupational work experience or five years of full-time teaching at the post secondary level. Two years experience in living overseas from the applicant’s homeland is preferred. Gives evidence of exemplary teaching ability. Initiative, interpersonal skills, and cultural sensitivity are essential. Experience with establishment and assessment of student learning outcomes.
