nano: The Cutbuffer

1 4.3 The Cutbuffer
1 =================
1
1 Text can be cut from a file, a whole line at a time, by using the ’Cut
1 Text’ command (default key binding: ‘^K’). The cut line is stored in
1 the cutbuffer. Consecutive strokes of ‘^K’ will add each cut line to
1 this buffer, but a ‘^K’ after any other keystroke will overwrite the
1 entire cutbuffer.
1
1 The contents of the cutbuffer can be pasted back into the file with
1 the ’Uncut Text’ command (default key binding: ‘^U’).
1
1 A line of text can be copied into the cutbuffer (without cutting it)
1 with the ’Copy Text’ command (default key binding: ‘M-6’).
