1 * Ascent. The distance from the baseline to the top of most
1 characters. Note that in some cases characters may extend above
1 the ascent.

1 * Descent. The distance from the baseline to the bottom of most
1 characters. Note that in some cases characters may extend below
1 the descent.

1 * Leading. The amount of space, in pixels, to leave between the
1 descent of one line of text and the ascent of the next line. This
1 metrics is not specified in the current file format; instead, the
1 font rendering engine calculates a reasonable leading value based
1 on the other font metrics.

1 * Horizonal leading. The amount of space, in pixels, to leave
1 horizontally between the left and right edges of two adjacent
1 glyphs. The *device width* field determines the effective leading
1 value that is used to render the font.
