bash: Reporting Bugs

1
1 Appendix A Reporting Bugs
1 *************************
1
1 Please report all bugs you find in Bash. But first, you should make
1 sure that it really is a bug, and that it appears in the latest version
1 of Bash. The latest version of Bash is always available for FTP from
1 <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/bash/>.
1
1 Once you have determined that a bug actually exists, use the
1 'bashbug' command to submit a bug report. If you have a fix, you are
1 encouraged to mail that as well! Suggestions and 'philosophical' bug
1 reports may be mailed to <bug-bash@gnu.org> or posted to the Usenet
1 newsgroup 'gnu.bash.bug'.
1
1 All bug reports should include:
1 * The version number of Bash.
1 * The hardware and operating system.
1 * The compiler used to compile Bash.
1 * A description of the bug behaviour.
1 * A short script or 'recipe' which exercises the bug and may be used
1 to reproduce it.
1
1 'bashbug' inserts the first three items automatically into the template
1 it provides for filing a bug report.
1
1 Please send all reports concerning this manual to <bug-bash@gnu.org>.
