Long time ago when Kosrae is still ruled under kings and queens, they did their funeral in a very diffrent way especially the royal family in Lelu. This Funeral always took place in the ruins of Lelu. At the Lelu ruins there are about three to four huge tombs inside. Inside these tombs are long and huge basalt rocks pointing out inside the tombs. The main reason is to hold the dead body.
Whenever someone died and that body is related to the royal family, it is always a must that they put the body inside the tombs. After putting the body in the tombs, the parents or the close family would stay next to it untill body turnout to bones and after that is that they would wrapup the bones and took it to an island in Lelu called Yenasr, located near the causeway in Lelu.
