On the afternoon of the 28th of September tragedy struck with the crash of a tuna fleet based helicopter. The crash occurred at Flamingo. Details are sketchy. The weather was rainy with associated gusts. One description of the helicopter coming down, however, leaves open the possibility that the helicopter was auto-rotating due to engine failure. Early reports are that one soul was lost in the crash and another person was injured.
