__________ _____ Calculate the density ρ of the soap (include units!).
  2. ______________ Will the soap float or sink?
  3. ______________ Toughie: Based on the density, what brand of soap is the above bar?
  4. __________ _____ A student measures a bar of soap with a length of 8.0 cm, a width of 5.4 cm, and a height of 2.6 cm. What is the volume of the soap?
  5. __________ _____ A student measures a bar of soap with a length of 8.0 cm, a width of 5.4 cm, and a height of 2.6 cm. The soap has a mass of 88.0 grams. What is the density of the soap?
  6. ___________ _____ A bar of soap is found to have a density of 1.3 g/cm³. If the volume of the soap is 50 cm³, what is the mass of the soap?
  7. ___________ _____ A lead cube is found to have a density of 11.4 g/cm³. If the mass of the cube is 365 grams, what is the volume of the cube??
  8. During the 11:00 laboratory on Thursday I was distracted by the blue Lux Wake Me Up soap. I gathered the following data and made the chart shown based on the data. LibreOffice screen shot of soap density data.
    Lux Wake Me Up soap
The slope was 0.9853 g/cm³. When placed in water the soap sank. This did not make sense to me. I then walked across the street and bought another bar of blue Lux Wake Me Up soap and tried to measure the mass and volume for an entire bar of soap, but this also did not produce the results I expected. Based on the data shown, the experimental results, the nature of science, and the behavior of the soap, why was I bothered and distracted by the blue Lux Wake Me Up soap?
