who should we ask for financial assistant when we are all max-out on our Pell grant? These new policies of financial aid and appeal processing is dropping out a lot of students. In my own experience, the first semester for a freshmen is always tough because they have to adapt to new learning environment, new teacher and friends. it is very common for students to flunk their first semester and with that experience, many of their eyes are open to what their future goals are. With the new appealing process most students won't get a second chance only if they have a reasonable excuse like being seriously ill, pregnant, or a very close family death. Now we have the new policy on the financial aid where they will only assist us for only six years (600% ) in our education without summer sessions. With this financial assistance, majority of students won't be able to achieve their bachelors especially in fields where we needed the most like for example in medicine, engineering, and so forth. Maybe our government just love spending money on foreigners who they hire to do the professions we lack. I am a student who love learning and with these difficulties, our dreams won't be met until someone (guardian angel) do something about it. My two cent on this brand new semester where most students will be dropped out not because of academic reason but mostly by financial difficulties I would say. God bless!

Six years, are you serious? I mean, from what I heard from one of the counselors at PNI Campus, they said it is twelve years..

    No marky.. Sinsohn's right..
@ Sinsohn, what else do you think we can do about the Financial aid? "NOTHING!".... Probably, lets just cross our fingers, close our eyes and pray if we might get the extend our years of financial aid...

The major I really want to pursue is marine and environmental science but according to many Universities abroad, you will need at least 4 yrs to get your BS not BA and with this new policy it will affect big time my eligibility. I am wasting my Pell Grant on ESL classes that will not be counted as college credits......very sad indeed!
if our government really care about education then they should do something about it instead of going abroad all the time for meetings that waste time and money.
