I was just wondering about the attendance in this college. Why do they get strict on our attendance to class? The importance of going to school is passing your classes as well as taking all your tests or exams that your teacher might assign. It is not about being prompt or being punctual. As long as you know what you are doing, GOSH...Skip as much class as you want because image this, what if a student spends everyday going to class but never learn anything, Whould it do any good or was he/she just wasting his/her time?

as a student, this is just a concern regarding our attendance to class.
Well anyways, as we all know, We are micronesians. We need disciplinary skills in order for us to survive out there as well as in other colleges. Lastly, I thank thee for reading my opinions....

you're rite, but attendance could be helpful to others and not helpful to others as well.....as a matter of fact, from some of the instructors, if a person have good attendance since the beginning of the semester all the way to the end of the semester, the instructor will give prizes to those people who get perfect attendance....like in Dr. Patty Kelly's classes, Doug Kelly, and some of the instructors.....
always, i would say dat attendance is helpful to me and to u.....ehehe.....the reason is so we can have time to listen to lectures from the instructors and be able to write down things from the beginning of the class time.....like assignments, informations, and so on and so forth.....ehehe.....
    peace wit u lil....

    hmmmmmmm! i agree wit u both...but i have a kapaztion...aherm! wait, let me rephrase dat...i have a ???question???
alwayzbemyself...um, my concern is similar to urs...mah question is, why are they so strict wit dem attendances; when we da students are da one paying for our tuition and classes...itz us dat should make use of it...in other words, dey shouldn't pressure students on da number of absences dey miss...it depends on each of da students...ok wait, i dont make any sense here...

what im trying to say is...they really shouldnt be dat strict 2 da students...if da students decides 2 be absent for no good reasons, den...da student is hurting himself/herself..but if its for a gud reason, den hey...give dem a break...all im saying is...dee attendance shouldnt be strict or hard on da students...cuz dis is COLLEGE...and in COLLEGE we make our decisions, pay our own way, and learn from our mistakes..........................................help me out here.....

well, if attendance is not enforced then i guess students won't learn anything at all......for me, maybe it'll be a waste of time walkin around on campus w/out nothin written ma notebook.....lol....anyway, u two got the point there....its our own choice cuz we pay for our own tuition but lets make use of dat choice. lets just follow the policy for its already fixed for us. it is to encourage us to attend classes daily and i think its helpful to me.
and careesha, i agree wit dat...if a person absence for a good reason, then they should give him/her chances not to count absences becuz its done on a good purpose.

Careesha- i would like to make a correction on what you stated above "when we da students are da one paying for our tuition and classes".. please remember that we are not really the ones paying for our classes. if there is any student on this campus that is not eligible for the financial Aid, there is less than 5 % of them, speaking percentage wise.

True, we should be given a choice whether to go class or not, but the thing is we are not really the one paying for our classes. If the students are the one paying for their class out of their pocket, than i will agree that the attendance policy be removed. Remember, the money being paid for your tuition from the financial aid might be coming out of the pay checks of the employees of the United states.. who knows.. the money is coming from someone elses pocket, not the student or his/her parents. so i think that the college enforced this attendance policy to encourage the students to pay their side of the bargain.

this is what i think. i to do not like the policy. however, to tell you the truth, if there weren't any attendance policy, i would be one of the many students failing my courses. with the attendance policy,it has encouraged me to attend my classes as much as i can. And to tell you the truth, there has never been a day that i never learn anything new in my classes.

we all hate the policy, but its only for our own good. lets take advantage of what the college is offering us. if you work hard today and harder tommorrow, it will serve you good for the rest of your life.

thank you all, this is only my opinion.
