    I've seen this high school kid from PICS HIGH and it really freaks me out because he cant hear nor speak but he can do reading comprehension questionnaires correctly.

    He is a section A3 students and you know A3 in PICS are top students. I approached him and asked him what would he do after PICS and he use some signs which one of his classmate translated to me that says "nowhere". I asked why, he said that he doesn't know if COM will accept him. WILL COM?

    AM just curious if COM can help these kinds of students.

    there is no such school policy that says, if you are different you cannot attend. sure think he can make it to COM. he will defininetly have someone with him like a translater to help him through.

    Simply in Education, USDE mentions in a saying, "No Child Left Behind".
    For people like him, they can come and a new program might start here too.

    Hey Wha-what,

    Thats a good one. Wait , a very good one. Start a new program! HmmPh! Cool, cuz what he always told me is that he cant attend here because he might not be able to cope with the instructors.

    Kaatu, you think someone can sacrifice for him to translate? May god bless whoever.

    Many colleges with federal funding do provide special programs for special needs students. COM is an accredited institution. I do wonder if that issue is ever brought up from the accreditation board.

    hei, guys FYI......I think from now the kid can't attend COM because we don't have program for disabilities child .....But COM is a public school and they can make the program for disability children if we have them....but it seems we don't have them and why COM will do the Program?? Also I don't think that we have professional who train to help the disable children at COMFSM. "THE CHILD WITH DISABILITIES CAN LEARN OR ATTEND A SCHOOL THAT PROVIDE APPROPRIATE LEARNING AND TEACHING MATERIALS"

    RoyGB,
    There are professionals here that will be able to help the student with special needs. All he needs to be enrolled into the college is to pass the COMET. If he passed the COMET and COM deny his admission then COM will be in deep hell trouble. Why???? because they are discriminating against people with special needs!

    Pass = present tense
    Passed = past tense
    Past = before/old (not living things)/(ages or times) ago

    I really respect all of your opinions and concerns, but can COM admits students whose 8 years and 4 years of education has been a part of his life. I mean he spends 30 percent of his life at home while the other 70 percent is in school. He deserve to be in school. SBA, when you say he reads can reads and speaks, I am sure that he can take the test. He can write right? The test is a read and write method. I am sure he will pass the test. The question is "Are there any teachers or Instructors in COM with the knowledge and skills to perform sign language?" If there is then he might not have a problem. Hope this helps!
