    Dear Students,

This to inform everyone that there are newly installed solar powered pathway lights for your convenience and safety. These are located starting from the boys dorm sidewalk all the way up past the cafeteria and up to the administration building.

As I said, it was installed to provide safety and lighting for you. Also in the event that there is a power shut down or emergency the lights will remain lit for you.

It is with great dismay and disappointment that one of you already damaged one of these lights outside of the boys dorm by throwing a rock or something, cracking the light cover and damaging the bulb inside last night. And to add on these were just installed yesterday. The maintenance guys had to work under the rain and sun, just to make sure that this convenience is completed for you.

This is clearly a criminal act and a display of neglecting the welfare of your fellow students. Because of this, I am looking forward that whoever is responsible is going to be given a chance to turn himself in before we conduct an investigation and finding out ourselves. If you turn yourself in, your punishment may be lighter than our coming to look for you ourselves. So take this opportunity before it's too late.

    Hi everyone,

As you may already be aware, we have some very distinguished UB students living among us. As hosts to these young students, I am asking that you set a good example as to how policies and regulations of the college apply to everyone. Kindly welcome them to our home and treat them as your brothers and sisters.

Last year, some of these TRIO program students visited the college under similar pretenses. Unfortunately they were somehow influenced into use of alcohol and other violations of the college. Not to mention they were not of legal age of drinking. Bear in mind that if you contribute by giving a minor alcohol, you are guilty as an accessory of a crime and can be charged in a court of law. This is state law, which the violator is fined or sentenced to jail.

So to avoid any misunderstandings, I am giving all a heads up and to assure everyone that if you do violate this law, we have no choice but to send you to jail. Including the minor who is consuming while under age.

In saying this, I have confidence that we are all on an understanding level and I am asking that you as college students and peers to these young students, show them what it is like to progress and succeed in education, which is why we are all here.

    Respecfully,

    Chief

Three UB students were caught for consuming and under the age of drinking last night. I hope none of the college students are involved. This I will look into myself.

Chief, I think it would be better if you report them to their own advisors and counselors...so that they can be properly dealt with...

You know those three UB students specifically KOS were lucky cuzz most of us in the dorms understand them. We know that they were all kids and we expect them to behave that way. We really want to touch them but we couldn't. We can't do that. We are responsible students and we don't want to ruin our reputation in the dorms. They even challenge to wrestle some of us in the dorms. Luckily, they approached those patient DSO students. What i am trying to say here is that even if one of the UB try to challenge DSO, we will never reply. I was proud of the DSO student for their patient toward our brothers from KSO UB. Thank DSO. I know you were really busy last night for studies but remember they were just kids. I felt sorry for them. Maybe this would be their last time to be listed in UB and experienced to UB fun & enjoyment life.

I applaud and commend all of you for maintaining a mature and understanding attitude towards these students. Bear in mind that they are your peers and will be joining some of you shortly. Now is the time to sit and talk with them about what college life is really about. It is obvious that they got a wrong impression somewhere, so it is up to you folks to steer them in the right route towards success in education. Partying can always come afterward.

    Again thank you.

I would like to remind those that failed to report due to violations of COM policies, that your neglect to report and face the consequences, may make your situation more worse.

"Failure to Comply with Assigned Disciplinary Action"

"Non-compliance by the student of assigned disciplinary actions can result in the withholding of grades and/or transcripts until written notice of compliance has been filed with the Vice-President for support and Student Affairs, who will be responsible to provide the appropriate lists to the Office of Admissions and Records. The withholding of grades can interfere with the ability of the student to obtain future financial aid for his/her schooling. Failure to complete counseling and other requirements inside the given time constraints under any discipline imposed may result in the denial of the student to register for continued classes."

A list is being produced of those of you that failed to report. This will be submitted to the appropriate official who will pass this on to the Office of Admissions and Records for their information and consideration. It clearly states above what to expect so I'm asking those that haven't reported should do so, or risk being denied registration for next semester.

    To securities,

Last Tuesday, which was December 2, 2008, around six o'clock in the evening, i walked down from the library and i looked at our state's flags. All the state's flags were ok except Chuuk State's flag. What happened? How come its torn? Did you guys use it in a war? Yeah, its like you guys just brought it back from the WWII because it has holes and it's ripped.

That's disrespectful, putting up a ripped flag..please get a new one

    Dear Community,

As per Clery Act requirements, the Campus Security Office is obligated to make a timely warning in the event a possible threat to the safety of community members is evident.

Just as a precaution, the following should be disseminated to everyone within the community for each and every member to take extra measures for their own safety.

As per a timely warning sent to the community during the holidays, regarding the killing of a young man in the Sekere village area, the suspects are out roaming freely as evidence and witnesses to the case, were not sufficient enough to keep them locked up.

According to one of our staff, one of the suspects was in the New Faculty parking lot, last Thursday, hitchhiking or asking vehicle operators for a ride in to the Sekere area. According to a reliable source, two suspects relating to the killing in Sekere, have been hanging around the campus for quite some time. One of the suspects have been confirmed to be a student who was attending last summer.

I am not in a position to name the student as he has rights, but to assure that everyone is aware that the individual in question has been observed on and around the campus. And that everyone must take that extra safety measure in assuring that they do not, talk to strangers or offer stranger(s) rides.

The Campus Security officers have been informed to keep an eye out for these suspects and if encountering any of them, to escort them off campus and ask that they do not return to the premises.

If you see anyone acting suspicious, or someone not familiar to you within the campus, please contact the security office immediately. Even if you have the slightest doubt.

    Thank You,

    Campus Security

If you break it..you either fix it or pay for it. Please report ASAP to the Campus Life Director to avoid any further problems that may contribute to your future plans as a student. Also the officers will be rounding up those who fail to report on their own. Those needing to be escorted will be facing more harsher actions than was originally imposed due to neglect and failure to report for violations made.
