Students pay at the beginning of each semester and summer session $20 for activity fees and $15 for health fees. Let me just give you a scenerio of the past 10 years:

Activity Fees from School Year 1997-98 to 2006-07 at minimum of 1,500 student enrollment system-wide
    1,500 (students) x 20 (activity fee) x 3 (fall, spring, summer) x 10 (school years) = $900,000

Give and take, that's roughly a million dollars.

Health Fees from School Year 1997-98 to 2006-07 at minimum of 1,500 student enrollment system-wide
    1,500 (students) x $15 (health fee) x 3 (fall, spring, summer) x 10 (school years) = $675,000

Give and take, that's roughly three quarters of million dollars.

The College can come up with an excellent scenerio of how the money has been spent for the past 10 years. In the end, the scenerio will only justify the tuition. There is no clear cut justification on Activity Fees and Health Fees.

I think it's about time you, the students, demand that the College earmark the money to that you pay from your pockets appropriately. For a start, support the on going effort to separate Activity Fees and Health Fees from tuition.

    Go Sharks!!!

It's just starting to load. Wait until download is finish. Student activity fee is just the beginning, and we hope to take the technology fee and health fee and run them on our own. I assure you with the dedication of our officers and advisors, we can do the ordering of computers, medicine, and other things for the students.

But my question to you Jeff and the Forumers, especially the elders in here, is "How much right do we have over those money"? I would like to know.

    SBA pres,

About your suggestion on managing the health and tech fee, is that really possible? wouldn't that be too much work for the SBA? won't it take away work load for some of the staff at the college?

i suggest we concentrate on the student activity fee act first. otherwise, we'll be biting off more than we can chew or swallow....... apwe ia?

The dispensary is always closed. most of the time i go there and it's close. just got tired of it and stop checking in. it would be better if they hire a helper since she's always out......
