If you want to hear different music, news or other content, just send us SPECIFIC requests, or take EN/CO 207 Broadcasting and learn how to program playlists.

VOA Special English is by community request - there are a lot of people who listen to it.

yeah, we sure need to listen to that VOA thingy...peeps like me who need a lot of English tutoring :-)
its a good thing to help those (incl.me) who have difficulties learning ENG .

And for the COUNTRY music...who else doesn't like Country music? I mean, PNI grew up listening to COuntry..It was just yesterday when PNI started experiencing RAP and rock, and HIP HOP. all are great but there is a differece to them

    Country music is clean..it doesn't say the "F-word"....um just saying...don't kill me...waaa anananananananana..(Tau runs away)...lol

I understand that the VOA is the Voice of America. I said "I" but I did not say it is not good for broadcasting. I hate the VOA. Eventhough its a community request, i still hate it.

Dakelly, I was once a dj but i hate the VOA.It just took up the space for the songs. But i am not discriminating against the station. I love the music especially the classic rocks and jazz.

V6CR 89.1 Campus Radio is on the air from 6AM through 10PM seven days per week, 365 days a year, except for whenever the station manager (that's me) is off island.

We will announce anything that is appropriate for the campus community. Drop by the Media Lab, call extension 219, or send an email to radio@comfsm.fm. Announcements need to be in the Media Lab by 4PM the day before they go on the air. No purely commercial announcements, please; no pigs, cars, or stolen items for sale. You have to give your name, too; no anonymous messages that might embarass someone. Please don't waste our time with pranks. I. P. Freely doesn't get air time.

About VOA Special English: The campus radio station is primarily an EDUCATIONAL station. It is not a jukebox. If all you want to listen to is music, then stick the wires back in your ears (you're going deaf, you know you are) and tune out the world with your MP3 player. The community, and our large number of remedial students, NEED to hear Special English. If you really don't like it, would you please produce something just as educational for our audience? We'd love to air some local content.

VOA Special English is good for you, you know it is. :)

    Doug Kelly, Station Manager, V6CR

If you have music you'd like us to play, bring your CDs or MP3s to the Media Lab. We have to screen the recordings for profanity and for sound quality. To get the music on the air, you need to convince one of the EN/CO 207 Broadcasting students to add your music to their playlist.

By the way, the playlists you are hearing now are my own. If you don't like the music I choose, push the Broadcasting students to finish creating their own playlists so you can listen to something else! :)
