Hello! My name is Abraham S.Rayphand. I'm from a very tiny island called Lekinioch in the Mortlocks region, Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia. I am a student at the College of Micronesia-FSM, National Campus. I am a Third-Year student in Teacher Education. This is my first semester here at the college (Fall 1999). I am in the third year program and planning to attend the fourth year program here at the college hoping to get my BA afterwards. I am also thinking about furthering my education in the same field of study as soon as I get my BA in Teacher Education.

As a teacher, I have always been interested in teaching English. I like to teach English because it is a universal language. Furthermore, I also like to teach English because I am not good in English and while I teach English, I also learn English simultaneously. In addition, I think that English is one of the many languages most people are interested in learning either by listening or speaking.

The purpose of my writing is to seek advice and assistance from any experienced teacher or anyone who is willing to share his or her skills and expertise in Teacher Education. Back home at my school on my island, we don't have enough or we don't have at all any supplies or materials that we can use to help our students acquire or learn their lessons properly. We need school supplies and materials in order to improve our school curriculum or system. We also need more knowledgeable teachers to assist in teaching at our school for both the students and the teachers as well. In fact, most of the teachers at our school on my island need teacher training programs in order to increase their abilities or knowledge in teaching.

If you are interested in assisting our poor school in whatever ways you so choose. I am more than happy to hear from you and always ready to provide you with any information you may need to know. The name of my school is Simiron Memorial School. It is located on the island of Lekinioch, Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Our enrollment for this school year 1999-2000 is about 250+. Again, our major problems in our school are: 1. Understaffed (Not enough teachers), 2. Lack of school supplies and materials ( Very few or limited supplies and materials). Our mailing address is P.O. Box 695 Weno, Chuuk Sate, FSM 96942. My e-mail address is koolphan@hotmail.com.
