Students will be able to:

1. Explain the purpose and function of the governor system in a small engine.
       
Explain how the governor protects the engine.
        Enumerate governor types.
        Explain governor construction and connection.

2. Demonstrate how to carry out engine failure analysis.
       
Demonstrate how to carry out preliminary engine examination.
       
Demonstrate how to perform engine disassembly to carry out checks.
       
Perform engine failure analysis.

3.
Perform engine disassembly and inspection following teardown procedures.
        Carry out preliminary steps prior to disassembly.
        Dismantle the engine following teardown steps as instructed.
        Clean engine parts and inspect them for wear.

4. Prepare engine parts and carry out assembly operations.
        Carry out engine preparation
        Recondition or replace defective parts.
        Perform engine assembly operations following instructions.
