Course Title: Trial Practice Internship

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

General

The general objectives of the course will introduce the students to court demeanor in various settings, practice oral argument of motions, competencies in witness examinations, trial strategy skills in making and responding to objections, and delivering opening and closing argument in a trial.

Specific

Students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate courtroom protocol demeanor.
2. Develop and present an argument in support of and against pre-trial motions.
3. Demonstrate the proficiency in cross-examining lay and expert witnesses.
4. List and describe skills necessary for making and responding to evidentiary objections and the strategy decisions
    at a court trial.
5. Develop and present opening statements and closing arguments at a mock trial.
