Course Title: Japanese II

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Pronunciation:

    Students will be able to pronounce some exceptional  sounds found in loan words and   will receive additional reinforcement of
   Japanese pronunciations.
 

2. Students will be able to express themselves in various situations such as making appointments and invitations, asking locations, and
    telling about family based on the vocabulary and sentence patterns developed in this course.
 

3. Listening:

    Students will be able to comprehend simple Japanese conversations and some specific   information such as prices and frequency at
    a normal conversational speed by native speakers.
 

4. Reading:

    KATAKANA will be introduced. Students will able to read dialogues and short  essays written in both HIRAGANA and
    KAT
AKANA
 

5. Writing:
    Katakana will be introduced. Students will be able to write short compositions in both    HIRAGANA and KATAKANA.

6. Grammar
    Students will learn the expression of two types of adjectives, sentence patterns for expressing existence, and additional basic
    action verbs. Further sentence patterns with  question words will also be introduced.

6. Culture:
   
A variety of situations in daily life and at work that people living in Japan might confront will be introduced. Students will learn
    traditional Japanese culture and society.
