STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

General

This course will help students work with nature. Students will be able to design and landscape with little materials available to them during class. Students will be able to understand different kinds of plants and will be able to design with different plants depending on what the surrounding provides.

Students will further their understanding of light requirements of certain plants and their growth patterns

Students will learn soil properties and mixtures to suit various plants

Students will learn the important relationship between roots and soil

Students will understand the difference between foliage plants and flowering plants and their placement in design

Students will learn to plan a landscape as it will appear in the future
