National Campus Holds Fun Run/Walk 2013

Kolonia, Pohnpei –The National Campus held a Fun Run/Walk on May 4, 2013 in front of Palm Terrace Shopping Center in Kolonia. Close to 300 runners from all ages joined the annual event.

Participants completed a 5-kilometer walk from Palm Terrace to the airport via COM-FSM Pohnpei Campus, then back to the Palm Terrace parking lot via the Spanish Wall. All finishers received tee shirts for completing the course major sponsor Palau Shipping Co./ Amcres Shipping Agency. Trophies and door prizes were awarded to winning participants by COM-FSM President Joseph M Daisy, Ed.D.

The college wants to extend its appreciation to the following sponsors who made this event a success; FSMNOC, Palm Terrace Shopping Center, Pohnpei Ace Hardware, Bank of FSM, Bank of Guam, Caroline Fisheries Corporation, Moylan's Insurance, Best Buy, Isamu Nakasone Store, Blue Nile & Hide Out Stores, Scoobies, Pohnpei LPG, Western Union/CTSI, Island Food Community, FSM Telecommunications Corporation, and Department of Public Safety.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the college’s Endowment Fund.

The College of Micronesia-FSM Endowment Fund was established by the College and is maintained for the purpose of providing support for the future needs of the College.

COM-FSM Staff: Cynthia Edwin (Female) & Santrigo Oswalt (Male)

Masters 50 and up: Leslie Liakkila (Female) & Garry Bloom (Male)

Overall Winners: Relolisa Saimon (Female) & Steven Henry (Male)
