National Police Train Campus Security
Palikir, Pohnpei (January 15, 2014) - The National and Pohnpei Campus Security members participated in a training conducted by the FSM National Police on the 6th to the 9th of January at the FSM-China Friendship Sports Center. Headed by Chief of National Police, Johnny Santos, 16 security officers were trained in the following areas:
- Ethics
- Command Structure
- Basic Policing Styles
- Interviewing Witnesses/Victims
- Basic Investigation
- Finger printing presentation
- Report Writing
- MTCU Brief (Micronesian Trans-National Crime Unit)
- Human Trafficking Brief
According to Security Chief, Warren Ching, “Scenarios were given throughout the whole training, the participants broke up into groups and addressed the scenarios as a team. Included in one of the scenarios which was most beneficial was how to tend to a crime scene prior to the arrival of the police.”
In a short ceremony held on January 9, 2014, Vice President for Administrative Services Joe Habuchmai, Maintenance and Security Director Francisco Mendiola, and National Police Chief Johnny Santos awarded the 16 participants with certificates of attendance.
