Awards Ceremony and a Fun Night Ends Fall Semester at Yap Campus

(Colonia, Yap) - Yap Campus combined an awards ceremony into its December all-campus meeting on December 6, 2013 to recognize and award certificates to students with outstanding performance during the Fall 2013 semester. 

Students were recognized for outstanding performance in three categories:  Outstanding Academic Performance, Perfect Attendance, and Most Improved.

Instructors nominated 53 students for Outstanding Academic Performance and 37 students for Perfect Attendance in one or more classes.  While all students nominated in these categories were recognized for their efforts, only Vivina Tinmad and Reiko Azuma received special recognition for outstanding academic performance in all classes while Cyrus Emaenglik for perfect attendance in all classes.  These students received special awards with certificates and prizes.

Instructors also nominated 39 students for Most Improved in one or more classes.  All these students were commended for their efforts received a certificate of recognition.   Finally, the tutoring program awarded certificates to Stacey Gurlee and Loretta Luchuu for the most contact hours for tutoring services.

On the same day, students returned to campus to celebrate the end of the semester with a Fun Night with games, music, dancing, and singing.  FMI cadets were also invited and joined the festivities.  Over 100 students, staff, faculty and friends attended the event.
