Social Studies Methods Class Commemorate Fallen Heroes

Kolonia, Pohnpei (November 5, 2013) – The class of ED 302 (Social Studies Methods) headed by their Professor Dr. Richard Womack commemorates the fallen heroes of the FSM on October 31, 2013, as part of a class activity.

The class traveled to Pohnpei International Airport and were briefed en route by  Dr. Womack on “why Veteran’s Day is celebrated in the FSM.”

According to Dr. Womack “the purpose of this field trip is learning and the learning should be directed around standards, it involves civics/government a bit of history and then some geography (Iraq and Afghanistan).

The field trip concluded with the class paying their respects to the portraits of the 10 fallen heroes of the FSM.

Veteran’s Day will be observed in the FSM on November 11, 2013.
