Pohnpei Campus Staff Pass Photovoltaics Examination

Palikir, Pohnpei (October 14, 2013) - Two staff members and a faculty member from Pohnpei campus passed the Photovoltaics (PV) examination given by UOG’s Bruce Best last week. Romino Victor, Rolter Olter, and Cirilo Recana were among three of the six finishers who completed the exam.

According to Best,  “All learned plenty and all grasped most major concepts. It is a tough course with many new concepts and we used math that most of us haven't used since the 10th grade: nobody , including master electricians and electrical engineers, has ever scored higher than 18.5.”

All six finishers received a certificate of completion and a class study guide with sample reference on sun paths and system designs.

Photovoltaics is a method of generating electrical power using converted solar radiation. Using solar panels, this energy is captured and stored for use as electricity.
