LRC Director named Outstanding Student in LEAP Cohort 2012-2013
PALIKIR, Pohnpei – COM-FSM Learning and Resources Center (LRC) Director Jennifer Hainrick was named Outstanding Student for the Library Education for the US Affiliated Pacific (LEAP) Cohort for 2012-2013.
Each academic year, the faculty of the Department of Library and Information Sciences chooses and honors a student who has made noteworthy achievements or contributions beyond the normal program requirements.
Ms. Hainrick is one of 23 scholars at the University of North Texas (UNT) who is currently enrolled in the LEAP program which started on August 2011 and will end July 2013. This scholarship program was made possible by the Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) in partnership with UNT.
In an interview Ms. Hainrick shared that she was "very much honored and fortunate to be named Outstanding Student for LEAP Cohort for 2012-2013. I was totally surprised when they emailed that I was chosen for this prestigious award."
Director Hainrick is the only member out of the 23 LEAP awardees to be given this honor for excellence. Her name will be mentioned on UNT's website and publications.
