Chuuk Campus LRC conducts training for students

WENO, Chuuk (February 4, 2013) – The staff at the College of Micronesia-FSM Chuuk Campus Learning Resources Center held a workshop last January for students.

The workshop was designed to train students on how to locate and retrieve materials using the college’s Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), the EBSCO, and the Pacific Digital Library while attending Chuuk Campus.

Fifty-four students participated in the three-session workshop held at the campus. Most of the participants were freshmen. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions, practice using the document locator and retrieval services, as well as retrieving materials from the library shelves.

Mr. Kersweet Eria, Chuuk Campus librarian led the training. He led the students through the process of locating materials using the college’s OPAC system. Ms. Jayleen Kokis, another Chuuk Campus librarian, led the presentation on the uses of EBSCO and PDL. Ms. Kokis also led the students through the college website to access the available research tools.
