[UPDATED] Financial Aid Updates for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
Dear New, Continuing, and Returning Students,
In light of ongoing challenges related to FAFSA for the 2024-2025 academic year, we want to ensure that all students are well informed about the necessary steps for financial aid.
Summer 2024 Enrollment
- New and returning students. For enrollment in the Summer 2024 term, it is of vital importance to complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA along with submission of required documents, including the completed COM-AFA form, a copy of your passport or birth certificate, and wage and tax information for 2021. For detailed instructions, please refer to the COM-FSM Financial Aid Handbook.
- Summer 2023 Attendees. Students who attended the Summer 2023 term and filled out the FAFSA for the 2023-2024 academic year should consult with Financial Aid Office to determine if there is any remaining Pell Grant allocation the Summer 2024 term. Pell eligible students who utilized their entire Pell Grant allocation during the Summer 2023 through Spring 2024 semesters will receive assistance through SEG for the Summer2024 term. However, SEG coverage will be limited to tuition and fees. For more information, please visit your nearest financial aid office.
Fall 2024 Enrollment and Beyond:
- FAFSA Online Submission. Starting from Fall 2024, the FAFSA application process will transition to online submission. All students, as well as their spouses and parents whose information is included in the FAFSA application, must create an FSA ID online.
- International Students and Those Without a US Social Security Number. Students, spouses or parents without a US Social Security number will need to seek assistance from the Financial Aid Office at each campus to create an FSA ID. Additionally, they will be required to provide a passport.
- FAFSA Workshops. To facilitate the transition to online FAFSA submission, workshops will be conducted to guide students through the process for the 2024-2025 academic year. Please stay tuned for further announcements regarding the workshop dates, or contact the Financial Aid Office at each campus for more information.
Note: Students, spouses or parents without a US social security number can now immediately access the online 2024-2025 FAFSA form after creating an FSA ID account.
