The College of Micronesia-FSM recognizes the unprecedented challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the college put together the Laptop Student Care to encourage and equip with laptops students to be able to participate in the learning process while attending the college.
Eligibility Requirements, the applicant must:
- Be a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia.
- Be enrolled at the college in an undergraduate program of study in the summer or fall of 2021.
- Demonstrate the need to use laptops as part of his or her classes.
- Must attend and satisfactorily complete tutorial services from the college’s counseling & tutoring services.
- Must show progression in cumulative grade point average.
Selection of recipients for the COM-FSM Laptop Student Care will be based on three groupings: Group 1 being the first to receive the COM-FSM Laptop Student Care, Group 2 second, and Group 3 the last.
Group 1
Full-time students in the summer or fall of 2021, and who have completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application; re-enrolled in an undergraduate program of study at the college and maintained at least 2.0 cumulative GPA GPA. For new students, a high school transcript will be used to evaluate their cumulative GPAs as the basis for selection. Graduating students who completed the FAFSA application and met the minimum GPA may be considered depending on the required credits needed to graduate.
Group 2
All less than full-time students who have completed their FAFSA, enrolled in the summer or fall of 2021, and earned at least 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 point scale.
Group 3
All other students who are enrolled in any of the undergraduate program of student at the college in the summer or fall of 2021.
Application for the COM-FSM Laptop Student Care for summer 2021is open June 21, 2021, and closes on July 2, 2021, 5:00 PM Pohnpei/Pacific Time., and for fall 2021, July 12, 2021, and will close on August 13, 2021, 5:00 PM Pohnpei/Pacific.
