COM-FSM We Care Student Aid for fall 2021 | Apply Now
The College of Micronesia-FSM recognizes the unprecedented challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the college put together the We Care Student Aid intended to support students facing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing recipients supplemental financial assistance to cover their outstanding (or unpaid) balance at the college after all federal grants, national and state scholarships are applied.
The We Care Student Aid will be applied to the recipient’s outstanding balance on tuition and required matriculation fees, including room and board fees, transportation and books, at the college for the academic term beginning spring 2020.
Eligibility Requirement, the applicant must:
- Be a citizen of the freely associated states (Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands), or a US citizen or national.
- Be a continuing or returning student at the college in the fall of 2021.
- Enroll in an undergraduate program of study as a full-time (at least 12 credits) student at college in the fall of 2021. Graduating students in the fall of 2021 may be considered depending on the remaining required credits needed to graduate.
- Be eligible or was eligible for US Federal Student Aid (FSA).
- Have incurred outstanding (or unpaid balance) at the college on tuition and required matriculation fees, including on-campus room and board fees, transportation, and books, during spring, summer, and/or fall 2020 terms, and spring or summer 2021 terms.
- Make use of the college’s student support services, such as tutoring services in lieu of withdrawing from classes.
Application for the COM-FSM We Care Student Aid for the fall of 2021 is open Monday, June 21, 2021, to Wednesday, August 18, 2021 (5:00 PM Pohnpei/Pacific Time). Application forms are available from Financial Aid Offices (FAO) at all campuses. Forms may also be downloaded by clicking on this link.
