CARES Act Funding Received by COM-FSM
The college received award notice from the U.S. Department of Education on May 05, 2020 and signed the Certification Agreement assuring the college will and has used 50% of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
The total amount of funds received from the U.S. Department of Education for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students was $1,820,157.00. The total amount was distributed to students on June 15, 2020. 1,206 students were eligible for this grant funding and all 1,206 received funding.
Eligibility for receiving grant funding was based on four criteria.

Students will be issued a check from the college along with the following information.
Students were informed they received this emergency financial aid for interruption of the spring 2020 semester due to COVID-19 pandemic. These funds are for expenses related to cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare.
