College Celebrates 5th Nursing Capping & Pinning Ceremony
Palikir, Pohnpei (December 18, 2018) - The college’s National Campus held its 5th Capping & Pinning Ceremony for graduates of the Nursing Program on Monday, December 17, 2018. Among the fourteen (14) graduating nursing students, nine (9) of where from Pohnpei, three (3) from Kosrae, and one (1) from Chuuk and Yap respectively.
In attendance were the Honorable Yosiwo P. George, Vice President of the Federated States of Micronesia , Magdalena Walter, Secretary of FSM Department of Health & Social Affairs, Kapilly Capelle, Director of Pohnpei Department of Health & Social Services, Dr. Tulensru Waguk, Chairman of the COM-FSM Board of Regents, Dr. Joseph Daisy, President & CEO of the college, and Karen Simion, Vice President of Instructional Affairs.
Welcoming remarks was given by VPIA Karen Simion, Secretary Magdalena Walter and Director Kapilly Capelle who both gave inspirational messages to the graduates. At the end of Director Capelle's address, he announced to all the graduates from Pohnpei that personnel actions have already been prepared for them effective December 20, 2018. A job was already waiting for them, and that they could "start anytime".
Closing remarks was given by Joseph Felix Jr., Instructional Coordinator at the college.
