Karleen Samuel receives Masters from UNT

(May 4, 2018) Karleen Samuel, graduated from the University of North Texas (UNT) with a masters in library science with a focus on digital curation and data management, made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services' (IMLS). The program was sponsored in partnership with the University of North Texas-Department of Library and Information Sciences (UNT/DLIS) and Brigham Young University-Hawaii (BYU-HI).

Mrs. Samuel was one of eleven scholars of the second LEAP cohort at the University of North Texas (UNT). The cohort members were special guests at the Ke Au Hou – Generations of Pacific Librarianship Conference held on May 1-3, 2018, in which they attended a digital workshop, presented their own research and findings in creating a digital collection for inclusion in the Mountain West Digital Library. A graduation ceremony was held on May 4th at University of Hawaii Hamilton Library in anticipation of cohort members finishing their degree requirements in 2018.

Karleen Samuel currently serves as the coordinator of the Media Instructional Technology Center (MITC) at the College of Micronesia-FSM. She oversees the operations of the media center while also maintaining and developing the media collections of the Learning Resources Center.
