Scholarship Opportunities [UPDATED]

QNU Scholarship

Quanzhou Normal University (QNU) in China is offering scholarships to 5 students from FSM for four-year undergraduate study. Students without Chinese language foundation are required to take one year of Chinese language courses and pass the HSK5 examination. If the student is majoring in science or engineering, the student must pass the HSK4 examination.

Majors of study include: Electronic Commerce, Radio and Television, Advertising, Business English, Chinese Language and Literature, Music, Economics, International Economics and Trade, Logistics Management, Clothing Design Engineering, and Clothing and Apparel Design.

Classes begin September 1, 2017 and end July 10, 2018 for the next academic year. Applications are due in by April 20, 2017.

Apply now through May 11, 2017, by submitting evidence or meeting the following conditions:

Documents providing evidence may include: official transcripts, short essay explaining career goals and reference letter from instructor or other college personnel, financial certificate from the Financial Aid Office or letter from a lending agency (outstanding debt of daily life).

Submit your applications to the VP for Instructional Affairs Office, located on the second floor of the Administration Building, National Campus. Scholarships winners will be announced July 10th and awarded for fall 2017 semester.

VITAL-FSM Scholarship

Palikir, Pohnpei (March 29, 2017) - The Rotary Club of Pohnpei is pleased to announce an Annual Scholarship program supported by VITAL-FSM PETROLEUM CORPORATION (VITAL).  The scholarship will be administered through the Rotary Club of Pohnpei, Inc. This Scholarship will support FSM citizens who pursue a post-high school education in the priority fields of Engineering, Chemistry, Agriculture and certain business fields consistent with VITAL’s business interests and needs.  Other areas of study may be considered, but Engineering and the sciences will be considered first under this scholarship.  Any FSM citizen who is a high school senior, or a currently enrolled college student, or high school graduate (or GED) and is accepted to attend an accredited institution of higher education during the upcoming academic year will be considered and is strongly encouraged to apply.

AMOUNT: Scholarships up to an amount of $5,000 each will be awarded.

DEADLINE: To be considered, the Scholarship Committee must receive the application and all additional documentation no later than July 1, 2017.
