Kosrae Campus Celebrates 23rd Founding Day
Tofol, Kosrae (April 5, 2016) - Kosrae Campus celebrated its 23rd annual Founding Day on April 1st 2016. The event was coordinated by the Peer Counseling Center and Student Body Association. The day included activities in the morning and evening of the day. Acting Dean Nena Mike shared the history and background of the institution and what made the day so special.
The Kosrae community gathered at the Moses Mackwelung Gymnasium to participate in the coronation activities. Each municipality was represented respectfully by a king and a queen. Each team, representing Kosrae’s villages had its own fundraising activities towards the College’s endowment fund.
The Mr. and Ms. Kosrae Campus would be determined by the amount of funds raised by each municipality. Dance performances, live music, and raffle tickets were part of the coronation activities that evening.
Before the conclusion of the program, Utwe Student Organization was crowned as King and Queen based on the amount of money raised. Representing Utwe Student Organization, Higgin Weilbacher Jr. and Sallyann S. Benjamin, were honored as Mr. and Ms. Kosrae Campus for 2016 coronation.
