Pamela Fredrick Named 2016 New Century Scholar
Palikir, Pohnpei (March 3,2016) – COM-FSM student Pamela Fredrick was named a 2016 COCA-COLA NEW CENTURY SCHOLAR. The program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa. Selection was based on the score earned in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition, for which more than 1,900 applications were received this year. Nominations were evaluated on academic achievement, leadership, service and a response to a significant endeavor.
Ms. Fredrick will be recognized at the AnnualPhi Theta Kappa Presidents Breakfast held during the American Association of Community College’s Annual Convention on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 7:00am CST, in Chicago, IL
Additionally, Ms. Fredrick will be recognized at Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention on April 7-9 in National Harbor, MD.
Ms. Fredrick is currently working as a tutor at the College’s Pohnpei Campus and was named Valedictorian during the 62nd Commencement Exercises.
