- Handles daily bookstore sales transactions, including cash and charge accounts.
- Opens and closes the bookstore as scheduled or instructed.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, including merchandise displays.
- Assists in the acceptance, verification, and reconciliation of deliveries (books and merchandise) against invoices, purchase orders, and delivery receipts.
- Supports local purchases of sundries, office supplies, and used book buybacks.
- Assists with textbook issuance, shipment clearances, receiving, distribution, and warehousing.
- Participates in the annual inventory process.
- Updates and maintains inventory records in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Assists in preparing and transmitting receiving reports and inventory documentation.
- Maintains organized files and records for internal and external audits.
- Answers phone calls and provides general customer service support.
- Prepares and submits monthly sales reports to the Bookstore Manager.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Bookstore Manager or Comptroller.
- Serves on assigned committees as needed.

Accounting and Reporting Functions:
- Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents.
- Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other records of financial transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
- Performs data entry and retrieval of daily sales and Pell Grant charge transactions.
Associate of Arts/Science in Business/Accounting from a US accredited college with one year of progressively responsible work experience which demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills required. Foreign credentials must be equated to US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. AS/AA degree in Business with two of direct years' experience preferred. Knowledge of: accounting and other fiscal principles and practices such as purchasing principles; modern office equipment including computers, typewriters and fax machines; and Microsoft word and excel program. Ability to: communicate effectively in English orally and in writing; follow and meet deadlines; perform accurate mathematical calculations and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students.
Preferred Experience/Skills: Evidence of exceptional customer services and working relationships with staff and students, Strong knowledge of MS Office and Point of Sales System, Knowledge of accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions, perform accurate mathematical calculations, excellent communication skills and exceptional organization and time management skills.
