Under the college’s department of enrollment management and student services through the vice president for instructional affairs and the campus dean, and immediate supervisor of the campus’ student life coordinator (or designee), the campus security and safety officer is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty and staff, and the guess of the college while protecting or safeguarding the college’s facilities and assets. Working hours: 3 shift schedules: 8:00AM to 4; 4:00PM to 12:00 Midnight; and 12:00AM to 8:00AM.
Teaching 12 to 15 contact hours per week with one to four preparations of education content and method courses in math, science and social studies to both in-service and pre-service students with one to four preparations. Teaching classes in accordance with the goals and objectives of the course as described in the course outline. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and student learning outcomes/grades, in accordance with COM-FSM regulations. Submitting records to Instructional Coordinator after the end of the semester/session. Keeping at least 5 office hours per week. Participating in one standing committee; may be asked to participate in adhoc committees. Advising students. Participating in special College functions such as graduation. Participating in instructional activities. This includes meetings, curriculum development and developing procedures for improving current classes. Participating in assessment activities. Participating in professional development. Attending to additional needs of the College or the community as agreed upon by the faculty member in consultation with their supervisor.
Master’s degree in Education or related field from a US accredited institution and two years of teaching experience at a community college level. Foreign credentials must be equated to http://www.wes.org. Must know how to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Online grading applications, and TracDat. Special skills, abilities and knowledge: Create and reach student learning outcomes, lesson plans; communicate effectively; analyze, interpret and use sound logic and judgment in application of a variety of teaching methods/strategies; work with diverse faculty, staff, and students; work as part of a team in accomplishing tasks and functions. Two years’ experience in living overseas from the applicant’s homeland is preferred. Ability to work with students learning English as a second language. Possess experience working in a multicultural international setting with culturally diverse students. Gives evidence of exemplary teaching ability. Experience with establishment and assessment of student learning outcomes. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Preferred experience teaching mathematics and social studies at least at the HS level. Experience with online teaching is essential.
