Reporting/Supervising:

This position reports to the Comptroller and supervises A/P section and Payroll Accountant.

Duties:

Provides oversight to the accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll areas of the Business Office. Performs account reconciliations and prepares financial statements regularly. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts. Records adjusting journal entries on all reconciling items for the books to reconcile with the bank balance. Reviews and verifies journal entries on payroll reports and ensure accuracy of amounts and statutory deductions. Checks and ensures that the Accounts Receivable are properly recognized, billed and collected. Reviews and verifies completeness of supporting documents before processing for payment. Ensures a timely and accurate recording and control of the College's fixed assets including maintaining a fixed asset list with information as to amount, useful life, depreciation method, custodian, and location of the capital asset. Collaborates with the Procurement and Property Management Office to reconcile physical inventory results with the financial fixed asset register. Ensures accurate valuation and depreciation of fixed assets in the College's accounting system Prepares annual account reconciliations and audit schedules and ensures that all audit requirements are completed before audit date. Monitors travel advances and dues from employees. Monitors and records purchases made from Company's debit card. Enters budget in the MIP system and assists in distributing budget reports and details of expenditures. Supervises A/P section and Payroll Accountant. Performs other related duties assigned by the Comptroller. Serves on committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a US accredited College in Accounting, business administration or related fields that include coursework in financial accounting and others fields of accounting and with five (5) years or more of experience in progressively responsible professional accounting or related field. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of work using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Must have at least five years of progressive experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and internal control. Must be proficient in using Excel and other Microsoft office suite and must have at least five (5) years' experience in using any accounting software. Certified Public Accountant preferred. Knowledge of: principles, practices, and techniques of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted methods of evaluating financial performance. Ability to: prepare and analyze financial statements, policies and procedures, and discern internal control and related problems; communicate effectively; planning; work as part of a team in accomplishing tasks and functions.
