Duties:
Keeps all vocational area clean and tidy. Keeps all workshops, classrooms, and computer labs in good working orders. Assist maintenance staff to provide required maintenance work on all vocational facilities which include carpentry, cabinetmaking, plumbing, and electrical work. Assist vocational instructors to keep general maintenance on shop equipment & tools and computers in all vocational workshops and computer labs. Assist vocational instructors with preparation of courses such as setting up workshops/labs or preparing the course materials for student practical exercises. Assist vocational instructors to store and organize shop/lab materials and student toolkit. Assist chairperson to maintain inventory on all equipment, tools, and supplies. Assist chairperson to prepare all purchase orders for the vocational division. Performs all other duties as assigned by the division chairperson.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and completion of certificate in a vocational/technical trade plus one (1) year of general work experience and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience maintaining and assisting in the operation of vocational training workshops. Training background or work experiences include building maintenance and basic electrical/electronic skills. Computer literacy is required. Possession of a supervisory aptitude is essential. Foreign credentials must be equated to US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.
