Duties:
Reporting to the LRC Director, the incumbent will carry these responsibilities:
  • Preparing books and other materials for use in the library.
  • Independently performing the full range of functions related to the orderly and timely receipt of periodicals.
  • Identifying a variety of magazines, journals and similar materials.
  • Posting of issues, making claims.
  • Processing orders for a variety of library materials.
  • Checking orders card catalogs, shelf list files and on-order files to avoid duplication of effort.
  • Performing basic copy cataloging by location the catalog record for the material to be cataloged and editing the record to match the piece at hand, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss and resolve problems, ideas for improvement, and keep updated on library plans and activities; maintain main floor area in a clean and orderly fashion by maintaining displays, cleaning computer terminals and other general cleaning and/or organizing tasks; perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Certificate of achievement from college in library studies and/or High School Diploma with three (3) years of work experience in library. Has knowledge of the use of office programs, library automation program, library organization system. Skills/ Knowledge/Abilities: to perform various clerical and technical library procedures, operate office equipment, understand, read, communicate and write in English. Knowledge of use of computers, printers, and smart devices. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to deal with others in a tactful and polite manner. Effective communication skills.
