The Instructional Coordinator is responsible administratively to the Vice President for Instructional Affairs. The Instructional Coordinator reports to the campus dean on a day-to-day basis and is co-supervised by the Dean of Academic Programs administratively.

Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional Coordination:

  • Supervise all instructional faculty (regular and adjunct faculty members) and staff at the campus;
  • Assist in the recruitment of qualified instructional faculty and staff;
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for all full time faculty members, and class observations every semester for full time and adjunct faculty members;
  • Coordinate faculty professional development in relevant training courses, workshop, conferences and seminar.
  • Coordinate required certification / recertification trainings for the faculty;
  • Coordinate instructional programs, courses, workshops, and trainings for the campus;
  • Ensure quality instruction takes place at the campus through regular assessments each semester;
  • Coordinate with all faculty members at the campus to conduct assessments each semester;
  • Review all assessment plans and reports and program reviews for accuracy and quality;
  • Collaborate with LRC Director on the daily oversight of the operations of the LRC at the campus;
  • Promote purposeful dialogue among faculty members and instructional coordinators throughout the system;
  • Direct and coordinate instructional program activities with interrelated activities of other offices;
  • Collaborate and coordinate with campus student support services on instructional, student, and advising matters;
  • Coordinate areas such as classroom management and curriculum development;
  • Serve on the Curriculum Committee (CC) as well as other committees as may be assigned;
  • Serve as a representative of the instructional faculty on the campus management team;
  • Promote the college programs and services through recruitment efforts, media, and networks with agencies, organizations, and communities;
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Campus Dean/Director;
  • Liaise between the VPIA office, campus administration, and instructional faculty
  • Determine the scheduling of courses and prepare yearly schedules in collaboration with instructional faculty;
  • Upload and amend term schedule of courses in the Student Information System database;
  • Determine required textbook titles and quantities of instructional support materials in consultation with the Campus Dean and Dean of Academic Programs;
  • Prepare and submit requisitions for required textbooks and course materials to the Bookstore Manager;
  • Prepare the academic calendar with the campus management team in consultation with the VPIA's office;
  • Prepare instructional personnel requisition for instructional position vacancies;
  • Work with faculty members and the campus administration with annual budget preparations
  • May teach one (1) course in the area of expertise during fall or spring semester as needed; no summer teaching; and
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Program Development:
  • Develop credit and non-credit academic certificate or degree programs;
  • Develop and revise course outlines in all subject areas in collaboration with relevant faculty;
  • Develop non-credit training or workshops designed for the private and public sector and other members of the community;
  • Act as liaison between the Campus and the community with regard to programs, courses, workshops, and trainings;
  • Inform campus administration faculty, staff and students regarding current, new and revised programs or program development at the national and other state campuses;
  • Research, write, and edit grant proposals that pertain to program development;

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in education or related field from an US accredited institution and two years of experience in program/curriculum development. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of work using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.Evidence of successful supervisory experience, grant writing/editing, written and oral communication skills in English; Demonstrated experience of effective communication with different groups (formal and informal); Experience leading a team and coordinating programs or activities comparable to the those under the duties section; Evidence of proficiency in the use of computer, Microsoft Word, and Power Point; Demonstrated commitment to student success; Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks working with different people, different level of managers in the organization, and beyond. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with faculty, staff, administrators, community members, government officials, and students. Some teaching experience: Preferred two years of experience working or teaching ESL students.
