Class Description: This Position serves as the primary COM-FSM Webmaster, who is proactive in the strategic planning and upgrading of the COM-FSM website and related web-services. under the supervision of the IT Director.
- Implementing the ongoing development of the COM-FSM website index and all associated websites therein
- Performing day-to-day site maintenance on COM-FSM web sites, setting company standards for design, performing navigation and browser compatibility, performing quality-control and maintaining and developing small web applications.
- Advise staff and associated agencies on how to best optimize their content for online deployment. Researches and recommends appropriate software packages to be used. Adds necessary features to the website to accommodate the needs of its viewers/ students/ staffs/ faculty. Study complex features of Webpages and apply concepts to the college's website as necessary.
- Write HTML type formatted documents necessary for file transfer (uploading) to the college's website on a regular basis. Continuously learn changing programming language(s) to be able to write scripts in more complex interactive HTML's as needed by the college.
- Troubleshoot and provides helpdesk assistance to COM-FSM client's internet access, internet browser and mail settings as needed.
- Work with all campuses staff when they have trouble with the college's web services to establish an understanding of the problem and report it to the IT director at the National Campus for an appropriate course of action.
- Create, activate and maintain COM-FSM email accounts for the college's students, employees, and email aliases accounts at any campus.
- Assist with updates and maintains necessary changes to the COM-FSM directory.
- Provides training and other technical and administrative duties as assigned by the IT Director and serve on committees.
Bachelor's degree in computer from a US accredited college with two years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. OR AS degree in computer with at least 4 years of full time work experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of assignment using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated ability for web authoring, web design and maintenance. Demonstrated skills in problem identification and resolution, knowledge of the system support products, the interfaces and impacts on other systems including operating systems, networks, and utilities. Knowledge of databases and related web integrated products supported by COM-FSM and of the various vendors. Knowledge of the COM-FSM supported system infrastructure. Familiarity with products that support other aspects of the system. Knowledge of systems principles processes and practices. Up-to-date on industry trends and directions. Understanding of the user operations and applications. Knowledge of COM-FSM IT standards and guidelines. Demonstrated strong analytical skills to work through all the systems components to identify problems and solutions. Evidencing successful experience coordinating with the client department/division, vendors, and other areas within Technical Support. Demonstrated successful relationships with systems/technical staff within the department, other departments and with product vendors and interpersonal skills,
