Duties:
Under the supervision of the CRE Coordinator, the Extension Assistant’s duties include support for both the agriculture and aquaculture programs. Under the agriculture program, the extension assistant will: Collect data, provide technical assistant and do hands-on work with the clients; Carry out follow up with clients in Agriculture programs; Liaise between agents and clients; Maintain demo garden; Demonstrate tilling methods, create small vegetable garden bed and planting; Demonstrate how to germinate seeds for poly-gardening or ground-gardening and how to compost and assist clients in making small scale home garden; Work with Agriculture Agent when castrating baby and adult swine and slaughtering and butchering swine and preparing it for selling. Under the aquaculture program, the extension assistant will: Collect data, provide technical assistant and do hands-on work with the clients in Aquaculture program. Follow up with clients; Cleaning and maintain the aquaculture hatchery; Feed fish, maintain equipment in aquaculture hatchery; Liaise between agents and clients. Work with the agents when doing spawning and rearing of clams; serve on committees and perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate with two to four years of fulltime direct experience in the area of work. Able to operate and handle garden machinery/equipment and have a valid driver license. Speak, understand and write English language and the local language. Able to do simple calculations and have basic computer skills. Preferred qualication include an AS Degree in Agriculture or Aquaculture. A strong swimmer and a certification in diving. Foreign credentials must be equated to US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.
