Duties:

Reporting to the CRE Coordinator, the incumbent will carry out these responsibilities:

  • Develop related brochures, leaflets, and other outreach materials
  • Provide information and management advice directly to clients, schools, communities, groups, NGOs on livestock topics and related subjects.
  • Train and assist CRS staff in area of specialty.
  • Write monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including on-line reports.
  • Develop individual Plan of Work (IPOW) based on NIFA plan priority areas.
  • Serve on committees and perform duties to support the unit.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in field of work from a US accredited college and (4) years of work related experience. Must be computer literate, fluent in Pohnpeian vernacular, able to speak and write in English, knowledgeable in livestock husbandry, crop production, and with the ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication skills in Pohnpeian vernacular and in English. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in animal science, horticulture, agronomy or related field with two years of work experience. Ability to create webpages and experience and knowledge in PowerPoint, Excel and grant writing.
